Seasonal Sunday Teapot copy

Welcome to Seasonal Sundays. It’s hard to believe that this is the ninety fourth Seasonal Sundays. I’ll have to start thinking about the celebration of the 100th!

Easter is Upon Us 037

As Easter is upon us…

Easter is Upon Us 002

…one can see bunnies hopping about.

Easter is Upon Us 012

It seems, the earth…

Easter is Upon Us 004

…is exploding with…

Easter is Upon Us 014

…COLOR!

Easter is Upon Us 013

Some has yet to burst forth…

Easter is Upon Us 005

…and other is in it’s full glory!

Easter is Upon Us 019

The flower boxes…

The Lenten Rose is the most recent addition to my garden.

Rabbit Warren

Rabbit warren 022

Welcome to The Tablescaper.

Rabbit warren 006

Signs of Easter are beginning to pop up all over our home.

Rabbit warren 068

Last week’s tablescape was full of color and excitement (click HERE if you missed it), while this week’s table is more subdued and in touch with nature.

Rabbit warren 028

After seeing this little moss bunnies all over blogland in the last few years, I finally purchased a few for myself. He looks right at home bounding through the pussy willow (which my youngest could not get over was a real plant!).

Copy of Rabbit warren 081

This sweet tea set purchased last year at Cracker Barrel was the start of my inspiration for this table.

Rabbit warren 087

Love the detail of the butterfly handle on the lids.

Rabbit warren 044

It’s hard to think of Spring without your mind wandering towards nests and…

Rabbit warren 027

…eggs!

Rabbit warren 016

A sign of rebirth.

Rabbit warren 036

I thought the bee glasses had to join in the fun.

Rabbit warren 001

Today’s table has quite the stack.

Rabbit warren 056Rabbit warren 055

I did something I don’t believe I’ve ever done before – a double stack of chargers. The first on is a recent purchase from Christmas Tree ($1.29@) followed by one that I’ve had for a number of years and used extensively.

Rabbit warren 052Rabbit warren 053

The first plate is an oldie but a goodie. One of my very first dollar store plate purchases.

Rabbit warren 050

The ruffled golden yellow plate is unmarked and was another dollar store purchased.

Rabbit warren 042

Rabbit warren 047

Topped by a recent HomeGoods clearance section purchase in the softest of green.

Rabbit warren 065

The flatware is by Cambridge and the cloth by Ralph Lauren (used in a completely different fashion HERE).

Rabbit warren 059

I got the napkin rings just last night at Big Lots (4 for $3.00).

Rabbit warren 015

So whether you’re planning an Easter brunch of dinner…

Rabbit warren 022

…I hope that yours has the spirit of rebirth.

Rabbit warren 088

Now, out of the warren and…

Seasonal Sundays # 93–Shopping Extravaganza

Seasonal Sunday Teapot copy
Welcome to Seasonal Sundays!
I had a wonderfully unexpected surprise. If you’ve read this blog for long, you’ve heard Kathleen and I speak of our different shopping adventures, but we live about an hour and twenty minutes away from each other, so most of those adventures take place somewhere in between each of our homes – usually at  The Christmas Tree Shop. Well, this Friday Kathleen’s husband was headed to the accountant (yes, it’s that time of year) and lucky for me, I’m on their way to the accountant. So Mr. Cuisine went to the accountant and Kathleen and I went shopping! First we went to Century 21. There is one in Manhattan and one on Long Island. Kathleen thinks it’s been about ten years since she had been in the store. Oh, the bargains we found! I thought I’d share our adventure.

We found these amazing napkins. Shopping extravaganza 032 Have you ever heard of a broomstick napkin? Nor had we, but they were 100% silk and only Shopping extravaganza 034  we had a bargain. Until we got to the cash register, where we found out that they were marked down to .49 each!!!
Shopping extravaganza 037
They were so beautiful and so cheap (I’d like to say inexpensive, but at 49 cents and 100% silk, they’re cheap!), I had to get them in green too.
Shopping extravaganza 039
These wonderful little shot glasses are perfect for a little tasting of an appetizer or dessert. Love the beveled sides. They are made in Spain and were six for $3.97. Of course I got 12.
Shopping extravaganza 011
A lovely salesgirl was in the midst of emptying her bin to stock the shelves, as Kathleen and I stumbled upon her. She was stocking these beautifully trimmed sheer table toppers and napkins. We dug and dug through her bin. The 60 x 60 table toppers were  $5.99 and the amazing napkins were .99 each.
Shopping extravaganza 022
At that price I couldn’t get them in just one color. Isn’t this pale blue divine? The pots de crème were a recent antique store purchase (six for about $20.00).
Shopping extravaganza 020
They even had matching votives.
Shopping extravaganza 019
I got 12 of these fabulous napkin rings. So extravagant and a bit over the top!
Shopping extravaganza 017
Hard to believe they were only $1.97 each!
Shopping extravaganza 007
And as our time was coming to an end, we made a quick stop at a store called Peter Andrews (there are two on Long Island). They had these wonderful chargers, which we thought were a bargain at $4.99 each, since they are Hutschenreuther. Then we found out they were buy one, get one free! Unfortunately there were only eight. I’m not sure how I’m using them. I’m thinking jingle shells and sand for summer or shades of pumpkin for the fall.
Shopping extravaganza 009
Clearly I’ve been shopping. What have you been up to?
